CCD Holiday Projects

Christmas Shoeboxes: The CCD program will once again be participating in the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox project. The CCD program needs donations of standard size shoeboxes, individually wrapped candies (no chocolates), little toys (no war-themed toys), school supplies, and hygiene items. We also need donations for shipping ($7/box. You may write the checks payable to Samaritan’s Purse and note OCC on memo line). Donations are needed by November 17th. Bible Study

After Thursday Morning Mass we are now starting back up on our Bible Study program. The last week we did session number 12, so for  September 19th, it will be be session number 13. Please try to do your readings.

CCD and Confirmation Classes

CCD and Confirmation Classes will start on Sunday, Sept 22 at 10 am. Please help us to make this a wonderful year of learning for our young people.

CCD/Parish Trip to Dollywood!! Wednesday May 29th!!

The CCD group is planning a trip to Dollywood on May 29th.  All
parishioners are welcome to join us.  Dollywood group rates (groups of
15+) for churches are $49.40 for adults and $40.40 for children ages
4-11.  Regular rates are  $56/adult, $44/child and $51/senior.  If you
would like to join us, please fill out the sign up sheet in the hall. 
Ticket money is due by May 19th for the discounted group rate tickets.

CCD/CCW Spring Fundraisers

CCD/CCW Spring Fundraisers

The CCD group will be receiving 6 tickets to Dollywood for its participation in last year’s Christmas shoebox challenge.  The CCD children will need to have some fundraisers to raise enough money so that all of the children can receive a free ticket.  We are planning to make it a CCD/Parish trip in July.  Dollywood group rates (groups of 15+) for churches are $49.40 for adults and $40.40 for children ages 4-11.  All parishioners are welcome to join us.

We are planning the following fundraiser in partnership with the CCW (proceeds to be equally divided):

Crock Pot Lunch Sunday April 7th after mass:  Lunch includes entrée of your choice from the Crockpot selections, beverage, and dessert.  Cost of lunch is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.  Please mark your calendars and plan to stay for lunch!!  It’s a better deal than any restaurant usually offers!

2012 Christmas Shoebox Challenge

The CCD youth group and CCW women’s group of Christ the King Catholic Church partnered up to participate in this year’s Good Samaritan Christmas Shoebox Challenge. The goal was 100 shoeboxes. The church exceeded the goal and was able to fill 108 shoeboxes with toys, candy, hygiene items and school supplies for needy kids throughout the world. The CCD youth group would like to thank the ladies of CCW and all of the Christ the King parishioners who contributed and helped out with this project.
